Cat attack leaves Paris police licking their wounds
A mob of about 30 cats savaged a group of police officers sent to save them from a Paris flat, officials revealed this week.
Issued on:
Three police officers went to the flat in early August after being alerted to alleged mistreatment of pets by a foundation set up by animal-loving actress Brigitte Bardot.
But the cats appear not to have appreciated the attention.
A “cohort” of cats set upon their would-be rescuers, scratching them in an attempt to defend their territory, according to a circular from Paris police authorities issued this week.
Although the police officers are part of a brigade specialising in handling domestic animals, they were poorly prepared for cat attack, the circular says. They are apparently more used to dealing with dangerous dogs.
The cats have been handed over to the Fondation Brigitte Bardot to be found better homes.
