Hollande meets families of victims killed in French terrorist acts

French President François Hollande on Sunday met with the families of the 17 victims killed earlier this month during three days of terrorist attacks in Paris.

Prime Minister Manuel Valls and several other ministers were also present on Sunday in the Élysée Palace to exchange a moment of solidarity with the families of the victims and former hostages.

On January 7, two gunmen attacked the Paris headquarters of the satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo, which left 12 people dead.

The following day a policewoman was fatally shot in southern Paris, and on January 9th the bloodshed continued when a hostage-taker stormed a kosher supermarket on the eastern edge of the city, leaving four more people dead.

The three days were the worst terrorist attacks to hit France in decades.

France held a national tribute for all of the victims on January 13.

Sunday’s meeting was intended to be more intimate for people close to the attacks.
