Clashes broke out outside the town of Douma in Syria on Sunday between security forces and army defectors who took control of the town, in what appeared to be a bid by government roops to recapture it. As the crisis deepens, RFI spoke to a Syria analyst on the options that remain open to prevent further escalation of the violence.
