Cathay Pacific filled six Boeing 747s - one of the world's largest airplanes - with 2,000 tonnes of the popular light French red wine, Parisian customs said on Friday.
The planes travelled from Paris to Hong Kong in mid-November and their precious freight was then shipped to other Asian countries to be uncorked on time on Thursday.
Japanese people, especially, are Beaujolais lovers.
They drank almost eight million bottles of Beaujolais in 2013.
According to French customs, about 4.1 millions litres of Beaujolais flew from Roissy airport last year.
