Could Catalonia be the next independent state in Europe?

As Spain's economy declines, many people in Catalan want to go their own way. On 11 September, the largest demonstration in Catalonia's history saw almost one in ten Catalans take to the streets - many of them waving nationalist flags. A recent opinion poll showed more than half of Catalans would vote 'Yes' to independence. RFI spoke to Elisenda Paluzie Hernandez, an economist in Barcelona who makes the case for a new, independent nation.
