A French court has ordered the extradition of a married British teacher Jeremy Forrest, who ran away to France with 15-year-old pupil Megan Stammers and faces charges of kidnapping a minor.

An appeal court in Bordeaux said the 30-year-old should be handed over to British authorities.

Forrest is likely to serve at leas three years in jail if found guilty.

The two, who met at a school in the southern English town of Eastbourne, were caught in Bordeaux’s main shopping centre on Friday after a member of the public recognised them thanks to media coverage of the case.
