When the UN’s climate summit in Warsaw ended last week there was one minister conspicuous by his absence: Poland’s environment minister, who got the sack just as the summit was coming to a close. Marcin Korolec was the victim of a cabinet reshuffle designed to boost the Polish government’s falling popularity. Dissatisfaction with the government has been taking on a more worrying form recently with more and more disaffected youths joining far-right groups. And as RFI reports from Warsaw, their violent demonstration last week overshadowed the start of the climate talks.
