This week Britons will be heading to polling stations to elect their members of parliament. The country's demographics have changed considerably in recent decades, and in many seats ethnic minority votes hold the balance of power. The rise of anti-immigrant party UKIP has shifted the immigration debate. The centre left Labour party have apologized for their 'open door' immigration policy when last in government, and the center-right Conservatives were forced to withdraw controversial vans encouraging illegal immigrants to return home.
