UK junior doctors go on strike

Issued on:

In Britain, a planned walkout by junior doctors scheduled for next Tuesday, has been called off, as winter pressures on the NHS are building up. The British Medical Association, which represents 38,000 of England’s 45,000 junior doctors, said it had decided to suspend plans for a 48-hour walkout, which was set to seriously disrupt hospital services across England. Two weeks ago, tens of thousands of junior doctors went on strike, causing major disruption to hospitals in the first walkout of its kind for 40 years.
