'Political soap opera' continues over minister's links to France's richest woman

The French government is ordering a full investigation into the taxes of Liliane Bettencourt, France's richest women. The move comes as Labour Minister Woerth faces allegations that his wife turned a blind eye to tax evasion by the L'Oreal heiress. Meanwhile the ruling UMP party is on the counterattack, accusing critics of trying to derail an unpopular increase in the retirement age.
