The debate surrounding President Nicolas Sarkozy's recent crackdown on immigrants - and in particular the Roma community - is continuing. But rather than uniting the government, the controversial policy seems to have brought tensions to the surface. Some left-of-centre ministers have voiced concerns about new security and immigration measures that have been condemned outside of France.
