Campaigners want truth about Ben Barka abduction

Issued on:

In 1965 French police officers abducted Moroccan opposition leader Mehdi Ben Barka in front of the famous Left Bank Brasserie Lipp. He was allegedly handed over to Moroccan spies, tortured and killed in the outskirts of Paris. Forty-five years after his disappearance, human rights groups are pressing French secret services to at last declassify their files on Ben Barka.
