France invented the word entrepreneur but has struggled to embrace it. Now, in the context of the economic crisis, it wants to help small-business people thrive in the hope they’ll help steer the country to safer ground. A host of political leaders, including the French president, flocked to this year's Salon des Entrepreneurs in Paris to show how much they care.
