French sex workers protest at proposed prostitution clampdown

Sex workers and rights groups protested this week in Paris against a proposal to penalise clients caught in the act of soliciting a prostitute on the street. France's Minister for Women's Rights, Najat Vallaud-Belkacem, has said she wants to eventually abolish prostitution in France completely. However, many sex workers believe the new law will only have a negative impact.
