The jihadi group led by Algerian Mokhtar Belmokhtar has threatened more attacks in Niger, follwoing two suicide car bombings that killed at least 20. In a statement on Islamist internet forums it threatened France and other countries involved militarily in battling armed Islamists in Mali.

French morale is at its lowest in seven years, but some are determined to lift the nation's spirit.

A recent survey showed French morale is at its lowest since 2005, with a majority of French people pessimistic about the future. But a growing number are interested in finding ways to lift the nation's spirit. RFI spoke to Claire Aubé, a journalist who founded Positive France, a website focused on reporting positive stories about people.
