The French do not have a strong tradition of travelling abroad, never mind emigrating. But with unemployment topping three milliion and rising, a growing number of jobless French people are packing their bags and taking their skills elsewhere. At the recent Paris job forum, the longest queues were at the international section of the French employment office, which each year offers some 30,000 jobs abroad. With the eurozone in crisis, many are drawn to anglophone countries, viewed as having more flexible job markets and less ageist recruitment policies.
