Women's forum hopes to foster sisterhood in French politics

French MP Virginie Duby-Muller: only 14 per cent of MPs from her party, the centre-right UMP, are women.
www.virginiedubymuller.frFrance still lags behind many other European countries when it comes to the number of women in political office. Just 27 per cent of French MPs are female, and only 14 per cent of the country's 36,000 mayors are women. The few who do make it into politics are helped by equal opportunity laws, but these can only go so far. A new organization, Women & Power, is attempting to bring togehter female politicians from all political leanings, so they can help each other.
