Cool as a cucumber, the 32-year-old man presented the laptop to the after-sales service of

the Fnac superstore in Grenoble with a complaint that the battery was faulty, the regional paper Dauphiné libéré reports.

Staff checked and found that the computer had been stolen the day before and, having consulted security video footage in which identified the man as the thief, called the police.

Informing him that after-sales is not the same as after-theft, the officers took the alleged perpetrator to the police station where he was detained and charged.
