French President François Hollande and foreign ministers from the three countries met yesterday in Paris and agreed to increase international support to enable the opposition to better defend themselves against any future attacks by the regime.

The leaders also agreed that the regime’s resolution was aiding what they called extremist movements and threatening regional and international security.

The United States and British foreign ministers will also meet with French officials in Paris on Monday to discuss Syria and a UN Security Council resolution that would force Assad’s government to cede its chemical arsenal.

French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius cancelled a visit to Mongolia and will instead meet with US Secretary of State John Kerry and British Foreign Secretary William Hague over a working lunch.
