The Paris area is about to get its own currency. A group of citizens is working on introducing an alternative currency in Montreuil, on the outskirts of the capital, with the goal of spreading its use across the Paris region. Called 'La Peche', it will not be the first such currency in France, or even in the world, but it is the first for France's biggest economical region.
