Black French group bus tour exposes multinationals "colonial practices"

Issued on:

Anti-colonialism week begins in France on Friday. This year’s theme is French colonial companies, past and present… Despite the official abolition of slavery in 1804, some French businesses went on to use forced labour until the 1940s and according to anti-colonialism militants, banks and multinationals still use colonial practices. To make their point, the Black French Coalition (CRAN) and "Sortir du colonialisme" network took the press on a Colonial Tour yesterday, from historical Paris through to the La Défense financial district. We took a ride on the bus.
