According to a recent poll by Odoxa published on Saturday in French newspaper Le Parisien, three quarters of French voters think that the possible return of former president Nicolas Sarkozy has already failed.

According to the same poll, 57 percent of those who identify as voting on the right agree.

Sarkozy is at the favored candidate of the right wing UMP party for the 2017 presidential election, ahead of former Prime Minister Alain Juppé.

However, according to the poll, Juppé has outdistanced Sarkozy among UMP suporters, and that only 50 percent of the UMP supporters feel that Sarkozy he is on the right track.

A high 77 percent of voters feel that the former head of state has not made any interesting proposals to address France’s current problems.

Sarkozy officially announced his campaign for the 2017 election in September.
