"It's around that amount, before taxes," publisher Laurent Beccaria told French radio.

Thank You For This Moment, in which Trierweiler details her relationship with Hollande and her life in France's Elysée presidential palace, has sold 600,000 copies in France and been translated into 11 languages.

The book stirred an uproar in the ranks of the Socialist Party, notably for accusing the president of mocking the poor.

"I didn't think there could be such a divide between public convictions and what was thought in private," Beccaria said, adding he "asked Valérie Trierweiler several times if she was sure. She said yes."

According to French newpaper Le Parisien, Trierweiler is planning a book tour in Britain this week, including media appearances and interviews.

The publisher has also indicated an updated edition of the book, to appear in spring 2015, could include material not included in the current version.
