The three were detained as part of the investigation into possible logistical support to Coulibaly, which also saw four men arrested at the end of January.

One of those who appeared in court Friday was the partner of a woman gendarme who was also taken in for questioning but released earlier this week.

He was initially held for an unrelated offence.

One of the suspects is believed to have acompanied Coulibaly when he bought the weapons he used in the siege, according to the iTΓ©lΓ© TV channel.

After examining phone records, the investigators believe that Coulibaly met one of the Charlie Hebdo killers, ChΓ©rif Kouachi, the night before the attack in which he and his brother Said killed 12 people at the paper’s offices.

The Hyper Cacher supermarket, where Coulibaly held a number of people hostage, killing four of them, is to reopen on Sunday with new staff, its owners announced on Friday.
