Car used in terror attacks found in suburb of Paris

A black Seat, which was used by one group of terrorists to attack two of the six locations, was found in the eastern suburb on Montreuil. According to a judicial source, several AK47 rifles of the type used during the attacks in Paris on Friday were found in the car.

According to the police, six people close to Omar Ismail Mostefai, the first of the attackers to have been identified, have been detained.

Mostefai was one of the three attackers who blew themselves up at the Bataclan concert hall where 89 people were killed.

The 29-year-old was identified by his finger, which was found among the rubble of the Bataclan concert hall.

Among those detained included Mostefai's father, brother and sister-in-law, judicial and police sources said.

According to the sources, the six are being questioned as part of routine efforts to verify information about the attacker.

Meanwhile, the discovery of a Syrian passport near the body of one attacker has raised suspicions some of them might have entered Europe as part of an influx of people fleeing Syria's civil war.

The Greek minister for citizen protection had said on Saturday that the passport holder had come through the Greek island of Leros on October 3 where he was registered under EU rules.

Paris prosecutor Francois Molin said on Saturday that the attackers had worked in three teams, striking seven times in quick succession on Friday night.

Suspects arrested in Belgium

Belgian police arrested three suspects in Brussels including one who was in Paris at the time of the attack.

The arrests were made in connection with a vehicle found near the Bataclan concert hall.
In Germany, the authorities said they were looking into a possible link between the attacks and the arrest in Bavaria last week of a man with a car-load of weapons and explosives.

US, Saudi leaders to meet after Paris attacks

US President Barack Obama will hold talks with Saudi Arabia's King Salman on Sunday as world leaders seek a united response to the Paris assaults.

The US and Saudi leaders plan to meet on the sidelines of a two-day G20 summit in Antalya, Turkey where the battle against jihadist violence is on the leaders' agenda.
