Third body found at scene of French police shootout with Paris attackers

A third body has been found at the scene of Wednesday's showdown between French security forces and suspects in last week's Paris attacks. Two of the dead have now been identified. European ministers have agreed to tighten border controls at an emergency meeting in Brussels.

French police revealed that thee bodies have been found at the apartment in Saint Denis on the outskirts of Paris raided by security forces on Wednesday.

And, after revealing that one of the bodies belonged to Abdelhamid Abaaoud on Thursday, they have identified another as that of his cousin, Hasna Aitboulahcen, a 26-year-old woman who is reported to have become estranged from the rest of her family and adopted strict Islamic dress six months ago.

Police also said Friday that CCTV footage showed Abaaoud in the metro at Montreuil, east of Paris, on Friday evening less than an hour after the gunmen began their shooting spree.

A black Seat car believed to have been used in the attacks was later found in Montreuil.

EU interior ministers at an emergency meeting in Brussels agreed to tighten checks on all travellers at the borders of Schengen passport-free zone.

The European Commission called for the establishment of an EU-wide intelligence agency, following criticism of failures to share information, particularly on the whereabouts of Abaaoud.

A video purporting to be issued by the Islamic State armed group, which has claimed responsibliity for the Paris attacks, on Thursday threatened more attacks on France and also said that the group would "blow up" the White House.
