Trying to undo the damage caused by female genital mutilation

Earlier this month in France, a couple from Guinea were sentenced to two years in prison for the genital mutilation of their four daughters. Though genital excision is illegal in France, there are an estimated 50-thousand women living in the country who have been subjected to the practice. A French doctor has developed a procedure to reconstruct genital areas damaged by excision, so helping some women rediscover their sexuality.
