Israel's biggest forest fire under control
A forest fire threatening the city of Haifa is nearly under control, Israeli fire services sais Sunday. Some 30 fire-fighting planes are taking part in an international effort to put out the fire.

Aircraft from Greece, Britain, Turkey, Russia and France are helping and Palestinian civil defence forces have joined the operation in northern Israel.
The fire, which started on Thursday morning and is believed to be Israel’s largest ever forest fire, has so far killed 41 people and burned at least 5,000 hectares of land and five million trees in the hills of Carmel.
Rain is expected on Sunday night or Monday. It is believed the fire was started accidentally by picnickers.
