There was more economic gloom on Europe's markets and the ratings agencies wielded the knife again this week. France is to issue long-term bonds Thursday 19 January in the first test of its market credibility in the wake of Standard & Poor's decision to downgrade its triple A rating. An economic analyst at the London School of Economics speaks about ratings agencies and their effects on the market.
