Discontent among refugees in Iraq camps

Issued on:

Camp Ashraf in Iraq is home to the exiled Iranian opposition group, the People's Mujehadeen Organization of Iran, PMOI. The 3,000 or so exiles are formally recognised under the Geneva Convention but  the PMOI, remains on the terrorist list of some nations. Earlier this year, the exiles began to move from Camp Ashraf to Camp Liberty, a US marine base, after several clashes between camp residents and the Shiite-led Iraqi government.
