Israeli forces arrested Bahaa Khairi Moussa, head of the Palestinian Prisoners Channel during a raid on his home last Thursday. They also seized the station’s equipment.

The channel specialises in broadcasting coverage of the estimated 4,424 Palestinians currently held in Israeli prisons.

The Israeli Defence Force has yet to release a statement explaining the reasons behind the raid, or give any information as to the details of the charges against Moussa, as well as saying where he is being held.

However, the arrest would appear to be connected to a recent hunger strike by 2,000 Palestinian prisoners held in Israeli prisons which ended on the 14 May.

The group condemned the increase in raids on Palestinian media outlets, as the incident is the third of its kind in 2012.
