Australian government to enforce plain packaging on cigarette boxes
Australia called on the rest of the world to match its tough new anti-tobacco marketing laws.

Many health advocates believe that selling cigarettes in plain packets will turn people off smoking. But the tobacco industry argues its intellectual property rights will be violated if they lose their valuable branding. While the Australian government and anti-tobacco lobbyists are claiming a massive victory, not everyone in Australia is convinced the new laws will actually work.
