Kiplagat, who outpaced fellow runners with a time of 2 hours 28 minutes, was also the winner of the 2010 New York marathon. The 31 year-old placed third in this year’s London marathon in April.
Second-place finisher Priscah Jeptoo came in at 2 hours 29 minutes, with Sharon Cherop following more than a half minute behind.
The race was divided into two laps of a 15km course and one lap of 12.195km through the southeastern city of Daegu, South Korea, the country’s fourth largest city.
