West Indies have taken a lead of 37 runs with just one day left in the Test. First innings centurion Marlon Samuels was the other not out batsman on 22.

Earlier, England’s first innings folded on 464, giving the visitors a lead of 165 runs. Joe Root was the top scorer with an unbeaten 182. At one stage, England had scored 329 runs for the loss of just three wickets.

However, thereafter they suffered a collapse, losing the next seven wickets for just 130 odd runs. Three of those wickets were because of run outs.

It was only the third time in 138 years of Test cricket that England had that many run out dismissals in a single innings.

Similar to first innings, West Indies started their second innings unconvincingly, losing opener Devon Smith with just three runs on the board.

However, Brathwaite and No 3 batsman Darren Bravo steadied the innings with a solid 142 run partnership. Bravo scored 69 runs before falling to Stuart Broad in the final session of the day.

With his fourth Test century, Brathwaite, who had scored just one run in the first innings, guided his team to a position of safety.
