Iranian film director Mohammad Rasoulof is to attend the Cannes Film Festival Tuesday evening after the authorities lifted a ban on leaving the country, his press attaché at the Riviera resort says.
Issued on:
Rasoulof, whose film Bé Omid é Didar (Goodbye) has been shown at the festival,
was jailed for six months in December along with fellow-director Jafar Panahi. But both were later released on condition that they did not leave Iranian territory.

It is to be reshown at a special session on Friday along with Panahi’s In Film Nist (This is not a film), which was shot under semi-clandestine conditions.
