When August comes around, the majority of Parisians head out of the city for holidays. But that doesn't mean the city is deserted. On the contrary, it is packed with visitors from all around the world who come visit the French captial during the summer. In fact, there are just as many people riding the metro now as there are during the rest of the year. The Paris urban transit system transports 11 million passengers a year. With so many people riding the metro, the transit system is also trying to make sure that people remain civil with one another.
