Paris is the most visited city in the world, but very few of the millions of tourists ever venture into the poor towns right on the city limits. The image of these towns on the outskirts of the capital, the ‘banlieues’, is shaped by media reports of crime and poverty. But a group of people is trying to change that image. Accueil Banlieues organises homestays on the outskirts of Paris.
