Slideshow: Opening the ballot boxes
Counting for the Democratic Republic of Congo’s presidential elections began in earnest on Tuesday. Some initial tallies were available at polling stations as workers for the electoral commission (Ceni) tried to recover from a hectic schedule of work. RFI visited polling stations across the capital Kinshasa to see the aftermath of the country’s second election since the 1998-2003 civil war.
