Libya's Defence minister Mohammed al-Bargathi resigned on Tuesday before withdrawing his resignation a few hours later. The move is over the siege of the ministries of justice and foreign affairs by gunmen for over a week. The militiamen had been demanding the introduction of a law banning Moamer Kadhafi-era officials from holding office. But despite the law being passed last weekend, the militias have refused to lift their siege and are now asking for Prime Minister Ali Zeidan to resign.
