Iran panel calls for opposition trial
The Iranian parliament on Wednesday called for two opposition leaders Mir Hossein Moussavi and Mehdi Karroubi to be tried, accusing them of being traitors and counter-revolutionaries.

A parliamentary panel is urging the government to take “firm legal action” against them after conducting a probe into 14 February anti-government protests called by Mousavi and Karroubi.
The panel says several western powers, including the United States and Israel, were behind the protests.
Mousavi and Karroubi and their wives are being held in a Tehran jail, according to websites of members of their families, but the government says they are at home under security protection.
Demonstrators faced a strong police presence, which prevented them holding marches on Tuesday in central Tehran.
The Swedish foreign ministry on Wednesday summoned Iran’s ambassador to protest the reported arrests of Mousavi and Karroubi.
“The ambassador did not provide any satisfactory answers during this meeting so Sweden will follow up this issue very closely," foreign ministry spokesman Sven Kullberg told French press agency AFP.
