International court takes stock 15 years after Rome Treaty

It is 15 years since the United Nations adopted the Rome Statute that contains the legal framework for the International Criminal Court. The court, which is based in The Hague in The Netherlands, became operational on 1 July 2002, after the necessary 60 signatories was reached. Today 122 countries have ratified the Rome Statute. But some major international players such as the US have not ratified the treaty or, like China, India and Indonesia, haven't signed it.
