Today’s question was read on 5 January and was inspired by the fact that Sacha, the first baby born in France in 2013, was born to a lesbian couple. I asked you to send in the name of three of the countries which have legalised same-sex marriage, which could also include the nine US states which have done so.
The answer is: The Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, Canada, South Africa, Norway, Sweden, Argentina, Iceland, Portugal and Denmark. Looks like France and Britain will be joining them soon – here in France debate is still going on over some of the articles in the bill but it looks as if it will pass, maybe as soon as 12 February. For Britain - wow! This week the House of Commons overwhelmingly voted for it (400 to 175!!!!); now it goes to the House of Lords. As for the US, the nine states where homosexuals are free to marry are: Connecticut, Iowa, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Vermont, Washington State and Washington DC, as well as two Native American tribes. Mexico City also allows same-sex marriage.

This week’s question is about the Chinese New Year. In Chinese astrology, depending on which year you were born and which animal “rules” that year, you will supposedly have certain personality traits.
My question to you is: what is a “snake” person like, according to Chinese astrology? For those born in the Year of the Snake, what are some of their characteristics?
