European leaders are sitting down with Turkish officials today and tomorrow to hammer out a resettlement scheme for migrants transiting Turkish territory and landing on European shores.The tentative agreement struck last week would allow Greece to return migrants to Turkey as Europe opens new routes for pre-screened migrants to seek asylum legally.Turkey is demanding some 6 billion euros to help deal with the crisis and wants big concessions, particularly on its application to join the EU.This comes as border closures have left financially strapped Greece with a build-up of tens of thousands of migrants who have entered from Turkey.More than ten thousand remain massed at a single border gate in northern Greece.
